Description

36″W x 20″D x 51″H or 42″W x 20″D x 56″H. Customizable. The Washburn Two Over Four Drawer Chest features two smaller drawers over four raised panel drawers and a straight base.  Each piece is made to order with multiple knob and finish options to fit any decor.  This chest is part of our American Home Furniture Collection.

    American Home Furniture Collection

    The American Home Furniture Collection offers made to order standard and custom hardwood furniture for the bedroom, living room and office. This workshop specializes in making beds, chests, dressers, nightstands, armoires, desks and bookcases. In addition to multiple standard design groups, all products can be custom made to specific dimensions, configurations and finishes. Each piece of furniture includes full-extension drawer glides, soft close hinges. professional joinery and multiple decorative hardware options. Stained and painted furniture finishes are bath and kitchen grade for superior durability. This US based workshop has been making custom furniture for over 30 years.
    Material

    Wood: Birch, solid wood and cabinet grade engineered panels.

    Birch is most usually compared with Maple wood in terms of its properties. Birch has a fine and uniform texture, closed pores and no significant odor. Due to Birch's closed pored structure, it stains and finishes to produce a beautiful and uniform finish with much less trouble than Maple wood. Birch is a favorite of woodworkers because it exhibits excellent machining properties and planes and sands to a smooth finish. Birch holds screws and nails securely and glues easily. Engineered birch panels are made from laminations of birch veneer and it is light but strong. It is among the strongest and most stable of all cabinet grade panels.

    Tops, Legs, Posts, Rails, Feet, Frames: Solid hardwood from North America.

    Sides, Shelves, Bed Panels: Cabinet grade engineered panels from North America with environmentally friendly construction.

    Case Backs: ¼” engineered panels, environmentally friendly.

    Beaded Bed Panels: ⅜” MDF cored engineered panels for bead stability.

    Cabinet grade MDF: This is an engineered wood product made of wood fibers, wax and a resin binder formed into panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is denser than plywood.

    Drawer Boxes: Solid birch ⅝” side panels, dovetailed on all 4 corners, ¼ premium grade plywood bottoms. Unfinished, sanded.

    Drawer Glides: full-extension ball bearing drawer glides, 100# rating per pair.

    Door Hinges: Soft close design.

    Construction: Structural components are fabricated with ¾” engineered hardwood panels. Joints are engineered to have components fit into dadoed grooves and then nailed and glued. All adhesives are soy or water-based. Furniture is assembled, sanded, finished by hand.
    Finishes

    Standard Colors: 7 stains and 42 paint colors. All of the standard colors are shown in the build your own selections.

    Custom colors are available using either Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore paint colors. Please provide manufacturer, paint color number and paint name. Custom colors require an upcharge.

    All finishes are a solvent-based pre-catalyzed lacquer. This is a kitchen and bath grade finishing system with outstanding durability performance.

    Our standard stains feature ultra low emissions.

    Our standard lacquers are HAP (hazardous air pollutant) free and ultra low formaldehyde.

    Two tone finishes are available at no additional charge for tops, backs, knobs, drawer fronts or bun feet.

    All pieces are also available unfinished.
    Measurements

    Case Goods: All pieces are available without hardware and no drilled holes.

    Drawer Boxes: Depending on the specific style and configuration the inside width of the drawer boxes are approximately 5” to 6” less than the width of the furniture frame. The inside depth is approximately 2” to 3” less than the furniture frame, Drawer heights vary from 4”H to 8”H. Specific inside drawer box dimensions are available on request.
