This Oxford Barn Wood Trestle Table is part of our collection of Reclaimed Barn Wood Tables which are all specifically bench-built to your requirements in standard old pine or old oak. Tables can be customized, lengthened, widened or heightened. Each table is unique with it’s own particular characteristics and charm; no two will look exactly the same. Tables can be ordered with light, standard or rustic distressing. All of our tables are individually made by craftsman in smaller USA workshops.
Tables are available in 6 stain finishes and 42 standard paint colors and can be finished all stained, all painted or stained top / painted base. All products are finished with a clear coat to provide a durable surface. This makes it easier to keep the table top clean with a damp sponge (no chemicals!) and provides protection from water rings. “How to Clean a Kitchen Table: 12 Steps” is a more detailed guide to help you keep your table spic and span. Custom paint finishes including rubbed & glazed and 2 color rubs are also available. Unsure of paint or stain color? No problem! Simply choose TBD (to be determined) as your color choice. We’ll send you samples to help you choose the perfect color for your piece of furniture. Furniture orders can be placed into production without the final color choice.
Do you need seating? Coordinating or matching dining chairs or stools & benches are available for your turned leg barn wood table to complete your room. By acquiring this piece of reclaimed furniture, you have eliminated the need to cut a new tree and have acquired a history-laden heirloom that can be passed on to future generations. Specs
Specs
Size Any size. Standard Length 5ft – 12ft. Standard Width: 36-39"W. Standard Height: 30-32"H. Completely customizable.
Material Reclaimed pine or oak barn boards. Due to natural aging and weathering, both the old pine and old oak are harder woods than new pine or new oak. Old oak has a tighter, more uniform grain than old pine.
Measurements 1"Top: 30"H Table. 2"Top: 31"H Table. 3"Top: 32"H Table. Table tops vary in size because each piece of wood is different. The thickness of the table top is for aesthetics alone. Actual thickness of top varies: 1"Top = approx. 3/4-7/8", 2"Top = approx. 1.5-1.75", 3"Top = approx. 2.375-2.625".
Breadboard Optional. Standard sizes: 1"Breadboard for 1"Top, 2"Breadboard for 2"Top, 3"Breadboard for 3"Top. Custom sizing available. A breadboard refers to the contrasting piece of wood at the end of the table. In the past, it was used to ensure that the plank top table didn't warp, but today is purely decorative. Please note: The breadboard end does move with changes of temperature and humidity, and the ends may extend beyond the table edge during the colder, drier months of the year.
Distressing The level of distressing specified for each table is based on the final “look” desired. Each table is unique and the patterns are different for each table. Standard medium distressing varies from some distressing to more distressing. Smooth distressing will have minimum distressing but will not be completely free of marks. Rustic distressing is much heavier distressing and can include a lot of saw marks, nail holes, knots, etc. For old wood tables, this is far from an exact science as the builder uses the boards available and we can only specify along these broad guidelines.
Finishing & Table Care We offer environmentally-safe water-based finishes on our Reclaimed Barn Wood Furniture. As water-based finishes, the stains, paints and clear coats are all low or no VOC finishes, with non-toxic components. Our clear top coats are all specially formulated for use as a protective coating on our wood farmhouse table tops. Our top coats penetrate the surface of the wood to provide a hard, durable finish, which also seals the surface and protects against water damage. In most cases, a water glass left overnight on our clear coated tables will not leave a ring. These surfaces provide the benefits of a polyurethane, but are made with environmentally-friendly water-based non-toxic materials. Since these are wood tables, we recommend the use of place mats, coasters and hot pads to maintain the original finish. Surfaces should be cleaned with a damp sponge and dried with a soft, clean cloth. Commercial cleaners should be avoided as they can dull the surface. Waxes and polishes are not recommended or required. For old wood tables, cracking, minor shifting, fractures and bread board movement is considered natural and will vary with temperature and humidity. These types of changes are part of the character of reclaimed wood tables and will not affect the structural integrity of the table.
